Edinburgh Review: Kevin Tomlinson – Truth Or Dare?

Most comedians take their inspiration from the darker side of human nature; not Kevin Tomlinson. Curious, childlike, and almost preternaturally cheerful, his entirely improvised show is a gentle hearted celebration of the potential of risk and the essential goodness of people. Whether it is recreating a couple’s first meeting with action figures or going on an on-stage blind date with a member of the audience, he improvises a show that is sometimes hilarious but always heart warming. Seeing a comedian explore goodness rather than misery is much more unusual than it should be, and while comedy can’t save the world, Kevin Tomlinson helps to give it a little nudge in the right direction. Go see it and be happy.
